New Rules and Program Duration

The university has introduced revised timelines for doctoral tenures. The standard PhD duration is a minimum of three years (including mandatory coursework) and a maximum of six years.

However, female candidates and Persons with Disabilities (PwD with more than 40% disability) are eligible for a special extension. Upon approval from the Vice-Chancellor, their maximum tenure can be extended up to eight years.

Exemption and Admission Categories

Admissions will be granted based on the university’s entrance criteria, though exemptions apply to candidates who have cleared national-level tests.

  • Entrance Exemptions: Applicants with valid UGC NET, CSIR NET, GATE, JEST, or ICAR scores may be exempt from the written test, depending on departmental guidelines.
