Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has extended the deadline for the physical verification of documents for students admitted to its undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and Certificate of Proficiency (COP) programs for the 2026-27 academic session.

The deadline has from September 10, 2026, to September 17, 2026. Concurrently, the university is wrapping up the final admission stages, including the 2nd round of the last and final call for vacant seats across these programs.  

JNU Admission 2026: Verification Deadline

  • Physical Document Verification: The latest extension allowed candidates to complete their physical verification up until September 17, 2026.  
  • UG & COP Last Call: The process for the 2nd round of the last and final call for vacant UG and COP seats will completely conclude by September 21, 2026. No further extensions will be granted for submitting final qualifying marks, caste certificates, or relocation documents past this date.  
  • PG Last Call: The active submission and seat allocations under the 2nd round of the final call for PG programs (MA, MSc, MTech) concluded their primary admissions on September 10, 2026.  

When attending physical verification at the New Delhi campus, candidates must carry original documents alongside self-attested photocopies:  

  • Enrollment Records: Pre-enrollment registration form and the seat-blocking fee receipt downloaded from the JNU Admission Portal.
  • Exam Scorecards: Official NTA CUET-UG 2026 or CUET-PG 2026 scorecards.
  • Academic Proofs: Class 10 Certificate & Mark Sheet (as age proof) and Class 12 / Graduation passing certificates.
  • Category Certificates: Valid SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, or PwD certificates. Note that OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and EWS certificates must be explicitly issued on or after April 1, 2026.
  • Institutional Certificates: Character Certificate and Migration/Transfer Certificate from the last school or university attended.
  • Additional Claims: Documentation backing any quartile district or socio-economic deprivation point claims, alongside 5–6 recent passport-size photos.
