UGC NEP SAARTHI Initiative Drives NEP 2020 Reforms in MP and UP

The UGC NEP SAARTHI initiative is strengthening student participation in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 across Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in India. The programme appoints students as NEP SAARTHIs, who create awareness about academic reforms among fellow students.

UGC NEP SAARTHI Initiative in MP and UP

Universities participating in the initiative include:

• Madhya Pradesh: Dr. C.V. Raman University, G. H. Raisoni University, P.K. University, and People’s University.
• Uttar Pradesh: Amity University, Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Bennett University, IILM University, IIMT University, IMS, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology and Jaypee University.

Key NEP 2020 Reforms Promoted

NEP SAARTHI’s conduct student-focused awareness programmes covering:

• Academic Bank of Credits (ABC): Helping students understand digital academic credit records and credit transfer.
• Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP): Creating awareness about the revised undergraduate structure and academic flexibility.
• Multiple Entry and Exit: Explaining available academic pathways under the higher education framework.
• Multidisciplinary Education: Encouraging students to explore subjects across academic disciplines.
• Campus Outreach: Using orientations, student forums, discussions, debates, and community activities to communicate reforms.

Student Role in NEP Implementation

The UGC NEP SAARTHI programme gives students an active role in communicating higher education reforms. Student ambassadors can help their peers understand changes in academic credits, degree structures, subject choices, and flexible learning pathways.

As the initiative expands across universities, NEP SAARTHIs are helping bring NEP 2020 awareness closer to students and campus communities.
