The online registration window for the Common Admission Test (CAT 2026) is closing soon. Aspiring management candidates have until September 15, 2026, at 5:00 PM IST to complete their submissions.

Convened by IIM Indore this year, CAT 2026 is the mandatory national-level entrance exam for admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management and other premier business schools across India.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications via the Official CAT Portal.

Key Dates for CAT 2026 Exam Schedule

The Indian Institute of Management has outlined the official timeline for the examination cycle:

CAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria and Application Fee

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC, ST, and PwD categories). Final-year graduation students are also eligible to apply.
• Registration Fees: The application fee is ₹2,700 for General, EWS, and NC-OBC applicants, and ₹1,350 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. The fee can only be paid online through net banking, credit card, or debit card.

Crucial Guidelines for Candidates

Officials from IIM Indore advise candidates not to wait until the final hours. Heavy server traffic on iimcat.ac.in near the deadline may cause payment failures or technical delays. Additionally, while a brief form correction window will open later, it will only allow modifications to uploaded photographs, signatures, and test city preferences. Core information such as personal details, category selections, and academic records cannot be altered post-submission.
