NEET UG Counselling 2026: MCC Extends Round 1 Choice Filling Deadline 

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the deadline for the NEET UG 2026 Round 1 choice-filling and locking process. Candidates participating in the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling can now submit and modify their college preferences until August 18, 2026 (11:59 PM). The decision gives medical aspirants extra time to finalize their preferred combinations of medical and dental seats.

The choice-locking facility will remain active on the official portal until the midnight deadline. Candidates who do not lock their choices manually need not worry, as the system will automatically lock their last saved preferences.

With the seat allotment results scheduled for release today, August 19, 2026, candidates are advised to keep their login credentials ready. Once the allocation list is published, selected students must download their allotment letters and report to their designated medical or dental colleges for document verification.

This counselling phase covers the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, along with 100% seats in Central Universities, Deemed Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, AFMC, and ESIC institutions. State quota admissions will be conducted independently by the respective state authorities.
